Hariri laying groundwork for Cabinet formationBefore forming his new Cabinet, Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri is focused on laying the political groundwork and determining a unified policy for regional and international commitments, according to a political source close to the premier. The source told The Daily Star the allocation of portfolios and ministerial seats to each party is a "minor detail" for Hariri and is not obstructing the formation of a new Cabinet.Since 2005, prime ministers-designate have struggled to form new Cabinets, with new prime ministers taking up to 11 months to finalize a government.Additionally, the party is requesting that the LF and the FPM be equally represented in the new Cabinet in order to ensure fairness and cooperation, the LF source said.
