Lebanese pop star Elissa announced Monday that she would be withdrawing from the limelight. Taking to Twitter, the singer stated she would retire after the release of her 12th and final album, blaming the "mafia-like" music industry. Some have speculated that Elissa's decision stems from recent problems with her record label Rotana, which signed an exclusivity deal with Paris-based music streaming platform Deezer last year. Now all musicians on the Rotana label have had their music removed from the popular streaming platform Anghami, Deezer's rival.
